A Connecticut police officer has been placed on leave for allegedly failing to follow up on an arrest warrant for violation of a protective order for the man who killed his ex-girlfriend with an axe.
New Haven County resident Julie Minogue, age 40, of Milford, was found dead by police around 9 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 6 after receiving a 911 call from her 17-year-old son.

Suspects Nabbed In Rash Of Vehicle Break-Ins, State Police Say
Two men were nabbed for a rash of vehicle break-ins by Connecticut State Troopers and Southbury Police officers.
Malachi Johnson, 20, and Kayson Langhorn, 20, both of Waterbury, were arrested Sunday following an investigation into a burglary and larceny in Southbury and Roxbury, according to the state police.
The crimes were uncovered when troopers responded around 6:20 pm. Sunday to Southbury Road in Roxbury after a resident reported that two black men were rummaging through his vehicle in his driveway, however, when seen, they fled in a silver sedan, said Trooper Kelly Grant.
