Horses Rescued After Trailer Overturns
Two horses were saved after the trailer they were being hauled in was involved in a multi-vehicle crash. The crash took place around 7:42 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 6 on the Interstate 395-Route 32 connector in Waterford, according to the Cohanzie Fire Company. Responding firefighters from Waterford’s Quaker Hill Fire Company and the Cohanzie Fire Company found an overturned horse trailer, perched over an embankment, with two horses onboard, when they arrived. Greenwich Woman Charged With DWI In Upstate NY Stop
Several Hudson Valley motorists were among 29 drivers busted by New York State Police troopers recently as law enforcement agencies in the area continue a nationwide crackdown on drunk, drugged and distracted driving. Among the local motorists charged include: Orange County On Friday, Sept. 21, State Police troopers from Catskill arrested Tasha Purdy, 27, of Walden, for DWI. Man Takes State Police On High-Speed I-84 Chase With Flat Tire
A man wanted for a domestic violence assault and shooting took Connecticut State Police on a high-speed chase on I-84 at speeds reaching 95 mph with a flat tire for part of the chase. Daniel Ballard, 36, of Coventry, was arrested on numerous charges including reckless driving, reckless endangerment, and engaging police in pursuit, among others following an attack on a woman and her children, according to Coventry Police.
