With fall in full swing and days becoming shorter, deer collisions on Connecticut roadways "increase by leaps and bounds," warns AAA Northeast.
"Drivers need to steer clear of deer beginning this month, the start of deer mating season in Connecticut, when more deer traverse wooded areas along the state’s roadways at twilight," said the AAA.

Police in one Fairfield County town are warning parents that more kids are driving electric bikes, scooters, and cycles illegally on roadways.
What most don't realize, police say, is that you have to have a valid driver's license to operate the vehicles on roadways under state law, according to the Greenwich Police Department.

Man Charged With DUI After Crash In Darien
A Fairfield County man was taken into custody for an alleged DUI after being involved in a one-car crash, police announced.
In Darien, police served an active arrest warrant for Wilton resident Michael Sackstein, age 32, on Sunday, May 8, stemming from an incident in April.
The crash was reported shortly before midnight on Tuesday, April 5 on Mansfield Avenue.
Police said that on the night of the crash, officers responded to the scene, where they found the vehicle on the side of the road with its airbags deployed and Sackstein standing next to the vehicle.
