CT Man Charged After Fentanyl Death Of 1-Year-Old
A Connecticut man has been charged with alleged criminally negligent homicide in connection with the death of a 1-year-old from a fentanyl overdose.
Hartford County resident Lenin Rodriguez, age 30, of Enfield, turned himself in to officers on Wednesday, Nov. 16, said Enfield Police Chief Alaric Fox.
The infant's death was uncovered on Monday, Nov. 22, 2021, around 5:30 p.m. when Enfield Police responded to North Maple Street, in regard to the untimely death, Fox said.

An arrest has been made in connection to the overdoses of six male college students, including several West Point cadets, on spring break in Florida.
Axel Giovany Casseus, age 21, was charged with trafficking cocaine of less than 200 grams, a first-degree felony, and burglary of an unoccupied dwelling, according to court records filed Saturday, March 12, the Miami Herald reported.

Five Fatal Fentanyl Overdoses Reported In 15-Hour Span In Hartford, Police Say
The opioid crisis came to a head in Hartford this week, as police responded to multiple fatal overdoses in just a 15-hour stretch, police said.
Officers from the Hartford Police Department reported that between approximately 8 p.m. on Monday, June 3 through noon on Tuesday, June 4, officers were dispatched to five fatal fentanyl overdoses throughout the city.
According to police, the fatal overdoses were different, and officers found fentanyl in pill form, powder form, mixed with heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine.
