Alert Issued For Caller Posing As Police Officer In Darien A fraudster posing as a police lieutenant in Fairfield County tried to pull a fast one on a Darien resident before quickly hanging up once he was found out. Investigators at the Darien Police Department received a report from a Barringer Road resident on Friday, Nov. 22, who said she had just received a call on her cell phone from someone identifying themselves as “Lt. TJ Whyte.” The scammer then proceeded to tell the resident that there was a warrant out for her arrest out of the Darien Police Department after she failed to appear in court.
