Woman Attacked During Attempted Carjacking: Search On For Suspects In Fairfield County A hunt is on for two Hispanic men who allegedly attacked a woman during an attempted carjacking in Fairfield County. It happened in Shelton around 7:15 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 18 at Mont's Mart at 198 Leavenworth Road in Shelton. During the incident, the two men attempted to steal a parked Nissan Murano. One of the men got in the parked SUV but could not drive away.  The owner of the SUV, a 37-year-old woman, came out of the store and confronted the man.  A struggle ensued and the woman threw a coffee she just purchased in his face, said Det. Clerks At Seven Fairfield County Businesses Busted Selling Tobacco, E-Cigarettes To Minors Employees at seven businesses were busted selling tobacco and e-cigarettes to minors during a special sting operation, police in Fairfield County announced. In late April, in Shelton, law enforcement agencies conducted unannounced compliance inspections at 17 locations to see if clerks would sell to underage buyers. Of the 17 locations, seven were found to be non-compliant and offending clerks were ticketed and fined $300. Occupants Rescued After Being Trapped Inside Cars In Head-On Fairfield County Crash Fire crews in Fairfield County rescued the occupants of two vehicles who were left trapped following a head-on crash. Firefighters responded to a report of a crash with occupants trapped in both vehicles at about 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, according to the Shelton Fire Department. When firefighters arrived at the scene on Leavenworth Road near Indian Wells Road, they saw that one of the vehicles was hanging over the guardrail and was starting to slide down an incline, fire officials said.
