Charges Pending After Victim Dies Following 2-Vehicle Fairfield County Crash Charges are pending for a Fairfield County man after a man died following a two-vehicle crash. The crash took place in Stratford around 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 18 in the area of South Ave and Spada Boulevard. Duo Accused Of Stealing 1,000 Gallons Of Cooking Oil In Connecticut Two New York men are facing charges after authorities said they stole more than 1,000 gallons of cooking oil in Connecticut and then led police on a pursuit. The owner of Pizza Palace Restaurant in Middlesex County called police at about 9:40 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, to report that he had interrupted the theft of cooking oil at his restaurant, according to the Old Saybrook Police Department. Woman Attempts To Withdraw Cash From Darien Bank Using Fake ID, Police Say A 54-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly attempting to withdraw more than $2,000 from a TD Bank using another person's identity. Banetta Grant, of the Bronx, was arrested on Wednesday, April 14, following the incident at the bank located at 55 Post Road in Darien, said Sgt. James Palmieri of the Darien Police. According to Palmieri, Grant went into the bank and attempted to make a $2,300 withdrawal from an account.  The bank employee became suspicious because the owner of the account was a male, and the suspect was a female.
