Woman Killed After Being Ejected From Vehicle In Hutchinson Parkway Crash
A woman was killed after being ejected from a vehicle during a crash on the Hutchinson River Parkway in Westchester. The unidentified woman was killed around 7:18 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 13, when Westchester County Police received several calls that a vehicle had gone off the road and rolled over in the vicinity of Mamaroneck Road, said Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for the department. The driver, the only occupant, was found outside of the car and was apparently ejected from the vehicle when the rollover occurred, O'Leary said. She was pronounced dead at the scene. 19-Car Pileup During Height Of Storm Among Hundreds Of Crashes Reported In Region
This story has been updated. A 19-car-pileup during the height of the Nor'easter was one of numerous storm-related crashes in the region, although most motorists stayed off roadways. At least six people were injured in the multi-vehicle crash that shut down part of the Henry Hudson Parkway in upper Manhattan Wednesday, Dec. 16 during the evening hours as the snow was beginning to pile-up. A bridge replacement project in Westchester will force the closure of the Hutchinson River Parkway over the weekend. The New York State Department of Transportation issued an alert warning that the parkway will be closed in both directions from exit 6 in Pelham through Mount Vernon, to exit 15 in New Rochelle.
