Bus Crash: NY Charter Company Has 'Satisfactory' Safety Record, But It's Not Perfect The New York charter bus company involved in a deadly highway crash that killed two educators and left dozens of high school band students hospitalized holds a “satisfactory” safety rating, though records show nearly two dozen maintenance violations in recent years. A check of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) website shows that Regency Charter Buses, based in Suffolk County in Nesconset, was involved in one injury crash in the past two years. Man Who Fired Shots From Handgun On I-95 In Fairfield County Caught A 27-year-old is behind bars after state police say he fired a gun from a car on I-95 in the middle of the afternoon on Sunday. State Police said they received multiple 911 reports of shots being fired near both Exit 32 in Stratford and Exit 28 in Bridgeport at around 3:30 p.m. Witnesses described a bearded man firing a handgun from a gray Ford Focus  northbound on I-95, police said.
