A stubborn blaze at a car repair shop in Fairfield County left the building with significant damage and resulted in a firefighter being taken to the hospital, fire officials said. The fire began on Monday, Nov. 20 around 1:30 p.m., when a blaze ignited at Kingsway Motors in Fairfield located at 705 Kings Highway East, according to the Fairfield Fire Department. Firefighter Falls Through Burning Home In Fairfield County
A Fairfield County firefighter was injured after falling through a floor while battling a structure fire. The incident took place in Bridgeport around 10:10 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 2 in the 700 block of Park Street. Firefighters responded to the structure fire after receiving multiple 911 regarding a fire, said Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management For Bridgeport. Just as a fierce Nor'easter moved into Fairfield County, firefighters were out battling an early-morning house fire. The fire started around 1:20 a.m., Monday, Feb. 1, at a home on Treat Avenue in Stamford. Lightning caused a massive structure fire at a house in Norwalk. Firefighters responded to a reported lightning strike to a home on Richlee Road, Monday, Aug. 19 at 4:50 p.m., said the fire department. Some residents of a condo unit were displaced and one firefighter was injured after a two-alarm blaze broke out overnight. At approximately 3:00 a.m. Saturday, June 22, the 911 dispatch center received a call reporting smoke coming from the roof of the building near Forest and Grove streets, the Stamford Fire Department said. Two Dogs Die During Monroe House Fire
Two dogs died and one firefighter suffered minor injuries during a house fire that broke out in Monroe early Wednesday morning. The fire started around 8 a.m., on lower Pepper Street, said Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Catalano. When firefighters arrived on the scene they found heavy fire and received reports of a possible person trapped inside, the chief said. Lightning Leads To Multiple Structure Fires In Fairfield
Multiple fires broke out early Thursday night after storms with heavy downpours and lightning swept through the area. The Fairfield Emergency Communications Center received a call reporting a structure fire at 1300 Mill Hill Road in the Town of Fairfield at 6:38 p.m. Engines 1, 3, 4, 5, Ladder 2, Rescue 1, and Car 3 responded.
