Police Thwart Kidnapping Scam In Darien A Darien resident found themselves in the middle of a real-life scam Wednesday morning but was thankfully saved by police officers. According to Darien Police, an unsuspecting resident who was not aware that these type of scams occurs in the area every day received a call from an unknown number and the caller informed her that her husband had been in a car accident.  The caller told the victim that the accident also involved her “brother” who is a wanted felon so the police could not be called.
