Police Looking To Locate Owner Of Dog That Bit Person On Fairfield County Roadway
Police are searching for the owner of a dog that bit a person who was attempting to remove the dog from the roadway in Fairfield County. The incident took place in New Canaan in the area of Ponus Ridge Road and Bennington Place. A small white dog with a black electric fence collar bit the person at about 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 3, and then ran off, according to New Canaan Police Department. New Canaan Animal Control wants to find the dog's owner to confirm if the dog is rabies vaccinated. Anyone with information is asked to call New Canaan Animal Control at 203-594-3510.

Dog Lunges At, Bites Jogger While Owner Holding Leash Talks On Cell Phone In Darien, Police Say
A man was bitten by a dog while jogging on the sidewalk of Route 1 (Post Road), Darien Police say. The incident occurred around 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22. A female with a dog on a leash was walking toward the jogger. He allegedly had to move from the sidewalk to the road to avoid the dog. As he passed, the dog lunged at him and bit him in the hamstring. The victim also said that the dog’s owner was on the phone at the time of the incident and didn’t initially realize that he had been bitten. Darien Police: Dog Bites Man As Woman Refuses To Pick Up After Her Pet
A business owner who approached a woman who failed to pick up after her dogs outside his business suffered a bite wound to his leg during the confrontation, prompting a police investigation. The man met with a Darien Animal Control officer on Tuesday, Nov. 6, when he said he was leaving his retail establishment at 365 Boston Post Road, when he noticed a woman on the property walking two dogs.
