Masked Gunman Carjacks Delivery Van Packed with Christmas Gifts in Fairfield A Connecticut delivery driver’s routine evening turned into a terrifying ordeal when they were carjacked at gunpoint, authorities said. The carjacking happened around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, in the 200 block of Woodrow Ave. in Fairfield’s Southport neighborhood. The thief got away with several Christmas presents intended for area residents. The victim told investigators that a masked man climbed through the passenger door, threatened the driver with a gun, and then drove off with the truck, Fairfield police said. Food Delivery Driver Shot In Back In Bridgeport A delivery driver was shot while delivering food to a Fairfield County home over the weekend. The incident took place just before 10 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 6, in the 300 block of Dover Street when after a Shotspotter gunfire activation and numerous 911 calls regarding a person shot in Bridgeport. When officers arrived on the scene they found a man shot in the back after his vehicle came to a stop in front of a snowbank on Dover Street, said Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management.
