Darien Families Team Up For Labor Day Lemonade Stand To Benefit Town's Nature Center Two Darien families ran a holiday lemonade stand to raise money for their town's nature center. Sisters Caroline, and Catherine Geis and sisters Claris and Vivian Flannery sold lemonade and snow cones on Knollwood Lane for two hours on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2 raising $162 for Darien Nature Center. The girls then visited the center to make the donation and got to play with a trio of ferrets, Winston, Frankie, and Biagio.

Darien Tree Conservancy Celebrates Milestone, Welcomes New Board Members DARIEN, Conn. --  Tree Conservancy of Darien celebrated the significant milestone of installing over 600 trees in town at its year-end board of directors meeting on Dec. 5. In addition to reviewing agenda and budget items for the coming year, the local nonprofit also welcomed two new members to its board. Since its inception in 2010, TCD has planted trees at I-95 exits 11 and 13, the Darien train station, along Ledge Road, Darien town beaches, Spring Grove and Veterans cemeteries and Town Hall.
