Silver Alert Issued For Man Who Goes Missing In Area
A 28-year-old man has gone missing in the area and authorities are asking the public's help in locating him. Darryl Mourning of Danbury went missing on Monday, Nov. 4. He is described as being 5-foot-8 and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a jean jacket. If you have any information regarding his whereabouts, contact the Danbury PD at 203-797-4614. Three-Hour Lockdown Ends As WestConn Declared Safe
Update: A three-hour lockdown ended at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury after the campus was declared to be safe following a report of a man with a gun in the Visual & Performing Arts Center. The declaration came after a search by police officers and a SWAT team. Four-Seat Airplane Forced To Make Emergency Landing At Danbury Airport
A four-seat airplane was forced to make an emergency landing late Sunday morning at the Danbury Airport and both the pilot and passenger managed to avoid suffering injuries. At approximately 11:34 a.m., Danbury Fire and EMS units were dispatched to the airport on a report of an aircraft with an in-flight emergency. The Piper Warrior apparently had a problem with its left side landing gear while performing practice landings on the runway, according to James Gagliardo, public information officer of the Danbury Fire Department. Travel Delays Continue Following Danbury Dump Truck Crash
Motorists can expect continued significant travel delays through the evening commute in Northern Fairfield County after a dump truck struck a pole, bringing down power lines earlier Monday. The crash took place around 10:10 a.m. Monday at 3 Plumtrees Road in Danbury when the truck, exiting a business with its bed extended struck the power lines over the roadway, said Danbury PD Det. Ralph Anderson.
