2 Killed, 1 Seriously Injured In Fast-Moving CT Apartment Fire
Two people were killed, and another was seriously injured during a fast-moving apartment fire.
The incident occurred in New Haven County around 6 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, at 25 Geneva Ave., in Wallingford.
According to Chief John Ventura of the Wallingford Police, the Communications Center received a call reporting smoke from a residence on Geneva Avenue.
When police and fire arrived, they found a man outside suffering from severe burns, Ventura said.

A 26-year-old Fairfield County man was arrested after he allegedly threatened a security guard with a gun at the State Department of Children and Families offices.
The incident took place in Bridgeport around 2:30 p.m., Friday, March 17, at 100 Fairfield Ave.

A Fairfield County man has been arrested for allegedly attempting to entice a juvenile to engage in sexual activity.
Rashad Tao Salaam, age 41, of Bridgeport, was apprehended on Friday, Aug. 13, by Greenwich Police following a weeklong investigation, authorities said.
The department was made aware that an adult who was sending inappropriate text messages to a 13-year-old child, said Greenwich Police Capt. Mark Zuccerella.

Man Chased Family With Knife After Being Asked To Turn Down Music, Norwalk Police Say
A Norwalk man was arrested after chasing family members with a kitchen knife when they asked him to turn down music he was playing.
Drekwon Battle, 21, of Norwalk, was arrested around 4 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 7, after Norwalk Police responded to the family's home on Longview Court, Lt. Terry Blake said.
The request to turn down the music angered Battle, who began argue with his family and at one point he grabbed a kitchen knife and began chasing multiple family members around the home while brandishing the knife, police said.

A man and woman from Westchester were among four nabbed in a scheme to cash a fraudulent check at a Greenwich bank, according to police.
The incident took place around 4:29 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, when Makeeba Mercedes Bell, 28, of Ardsley, walked into the Chase Bank on Greenwich Avenue and attempted to cash a fraudulent check, Greenwich Police said.
Bell, who was wearing a green hoodie and black sweatpants, walked towards the rear of the bank parking lot where arriving Greenwich officers saw her getting into a Honda Civic parked in the handicapped spot, police said.

A woman with a warrant out for her arrest is behind bars after she allegedly used a pry bar to break into a Connecticut business and robbed it, taking elaborate steps to cover up her actions, police said.
