Police Issue Alert For 'Sextortion' Phishing Scam In Fairfield County
Police in Fairfield County are warning residents of recently reported "sextortion" phishing scams and remind them of important safety tips to avoid being scammed. According to Fairfield Police Chief Christopher Lyddy, in recent weeks, the Connecticut Intelligence Center (CTIC) has received reports of "sextortion" scams that involve victims receiving an email from a purported hacker claiming to have hacked their computer and filmed them watching pornography. Man Admits To Statewide Spree Of Bank, Restaurant Robberies Across Fairfield County, State
A Fairfield County man has admitted to robbing multiple banks and Subway restaurants in Connecticut last year. Bridgeport resident Alvin Robertson, 56, pleaded guilty in Bridgeport district court to one count of bank robbery and admitted that he committed a total of three bank robberies and two Subways throughout the state last year. On May 20 last year, Robertson admitted to robbing the Subway on Ethan Allen Highway in Ridgefield, brandishing a knife and stating “give me all your money or I will kill you,” to the clerk. Suspect From Area Nabbed In Robberies At Subway, People's Bank
A man police have been searching for in connection with robberies at both Subway and the People's Bank has been arrested. On Thursday, detectives arrested Alvin Robertson, 55, last known address of Bridgeport, in connection with the bank robbery at the People’s United Bank in Stop & Shop on Sept. 21, said the Watertown Police Department.
