Major Companies Say They'll Cover Employee Travel Expenses For Abortions Several major media companies will cover travel costs for employees seeking abortions in response to the Supreme Court overturning Roe vs. Wade, Variety reports.  This comes after the court ruled 6-3 to overturn people's constitutional right to the procedure on the morning of Friday, June 24. Companies including Disney, Netflix, Paramount, Comcast, Sony and Meta confirmed to Variety that they will be reimbursing their employees who travel across state lines to get an abortion. Sporadic 911 Outages Reported Throughout State, CT State Police Say Some Connecticut State Police troops temporarily lost touch with their communities after experiencing sporadic 911 outages this week. On Monday, Jan. 27, State Police issued an alert that they were having 911 problems throughout the state, mostly among Comcast customers. Residents who couldn’t get through to 911 were forced to call the non-emergency line for the troop they reside in. An emergency robocall and text message alert were also issued by police as a precaution. It is unclear what the problem was. Connecticut Man Pleads Guilty To Tax Evasion Ira Malkin, 48, of Hamden, waived his right to be indicted and pleaded guilty on Wednesday, Feb. 28 before Chief U.S. District Judge Janet C. Hall in New Haven to one count of tax evasion. According to court documents and statements made in court, Malkin worked as a principal salesman for Good Copy Printing Center Inc. (GCP), a printing company located in New Haven.  Malkin earned substantial commissions from GCP based on sales made to customers.
