The summer of 2019 will be one for the books in just a matter of hours, and then a big change in the weather pattern will come, along with the end of a long stretch of dry days.
So it's fitting that Sunday, Sept. 22, the last day of summer, will be, well, summer-like with the high temperature well above normal.

A Stamford man known as being a devoted father died suddenly at age 51.
Jon Gregory 'Greg' Jester died Saturday, June 29. He was a "dedicated, passionate and devoted" father to sons Tyler and Matthew, according to his obituary.
Jester is recalled as having had a joy of life and his passion for his boys, friends, skiing, baseball, gardening, yoga, climate change, and "peaceful acceptance of the present moment."

Oh Rats! The Four-Legged Vermin 'Taking Over NYC,' Report Says
Rats have gone from lurking in the shadows to literally taking over some streets in New York City, according to a new report.
The New York Times reported on Wednesday, May 22 that rat sightings are up 38 percent from 2014, citing data from OpenTheBooks.com. There were 12,617 sightings reported in 2014, a number which has jumped to 17,353 just four years later.
According to the report, in that same time period, during that time frame, the number of time city health inspectors found active signs of rat activities has nearly doubled.
