After a 74-year run, a favorite Fairfield County fine jewelry store is permanently closing.
Craig's Fine Jewelry, a Main Street staple in Ridgefield, is closing on Friday, March 29, as the owner Billy Craig retires, a sign in the window announced.
The founder, Helen Craig, purchased the business in 1950 never imagining that her small family business would be what it is today, the company website says.

A store in Connecticut is set to close after decades in business.
The Toy Chest, located in West Hartford, will permanently close after 66 years so the owner and managers can retire, according to a report from We-Ha.com.
The store, located at 973 Farmington Ave., is set to close at the end of January, the news outlet reported.
WFSB reported the store's closing sale began on Saturday, Jan. 7, with all merchandise being priced at 50 percent off.

A longtime Fairfield County deli known for its great sandwiches and catering, and a favorite spot for area workers, has closed its doors.
Corbo's Corner Deli, located at 1380 East Putnam Ave., in Old Greenwich closed its doors for good on Thursday, Dec. 24, 14 years after it opened to serve locals simple, popular food.
