Basement Fire Damages Long Ridge Home Residents in a Long Ridge home had to evacuate over the weekend when a fire broke out in a basement, sending smoke billowing through the house over the weekend. The Stamford Fire Department received a report at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, of dark black smoke that was spreading from the basement to the rest of the West Haviland Lane home.
