New Canaan Nixes Controversial 102-Unit Affordable Housing Application, Report Says
A town in Fairfield County has rejected an application for a new housing development that would include 31 affordable housing units, the New Canaan Advertiser reported. The news outlet said in a report on Tuesday, Nov. 29, that the New Canaan Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously to reject the application for the 102-unit development at 751 Weed St. in New Canaan. Nearly 1,500 have signed a Change.org petition to save three buildings in Stamford's South End National Register Historic District that are slated for demolition in six months. Lifelong Area Residents Welcome Apartments At Reader's Digest
Ginny Enright, 85, has lived in Chappaqua for the past 54 years. Now, Enright is one of the first residents of Chappaqua Crossing Apartments. Her friend of over 50 years just moved in, too.
