NEW CANAAN, Conn. The St. Luke's boys varsity basketball team traveled to the northeastern corner of the state to take on Hyde School of Woodstock on Saturday but came up short in a 66-47 loss.
In the early going, the contest was even, and the Storm held a talented squad from Hyde stunned and confused. But eventually, Hyde figured things out, and its size and skill proved to be a dominant factor. However, the Storm never quit trying and eventually new combinations started to make a difference. JB Boggs led the Storm with 10 points. Noel Thomas and Elijah Holyfield added nine apiece. Jay Latta, Adam Connolly, Kevin Florio and Jon Demosthene accounted for the balance of the points, although every player contributed to the stat line in some way. Hyde was led by three players with 16 points.
St. Luke's has its Fairchester Athletic Association league rematch with King School at home at 4:15 p.m. Friday.
