Darien 6 Wave Stops Fairfield

The Darien 6th grade Wave blanked Fairfield, 14-0, in a Fairfield County Football League game Saturday at Darien High School.

Justin Plank, Brian Keating, Connor Galante and Kevin Fitzmaurice helped Darien control the line of scrimmage. They relentlessly blasted large holes in the Fairfield line, creating running room for the team's seven backs and keeping Fairfield's offense off the field. Only Wave punter Will Stevens was disappointed, as Darien did not punt the entire game.

Will Ahl, Tommy Napolitano, Quinn Fay and Nick Percarpio were effective running the ball. Quarterback Carter Scott spread the ball to five different receivers. Tight end Alex Preston had a big game, while Ahl and Napolitano caught long passes and Zak Swetye and Ethan Ehlers both made great grabs.

Keating, Fay and Galante had sacks, and sure tackling by Eddie Miller and Stevens also helped stop Fairfield short of the goal. Sammy McMullin and Jack Beatty helped stop Fairfield's big play receiver, Aiden Kudzy.

Darien hosts New Canaan Black Saturday at 10:30.
