To be considered for the position, applicants must be 21 years of age and have earned either:
- A minimum of 60 credits from an accredited college or university
- A minimum of two years full active military duty plus 30 credits
- Previous law enforcement experience plus 30 credits
The salary for this role is between $69,534 and $98,941.
Prior police experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, but certified officers are required to participate in the full Entry Level testing process. A valid CHIP card and a minimum passing score of 75 percent on the CPCA Entry Level Written Exam are also required prior to submitting an application.
Potential candidates must complete and successfully pass the following:
- Staff interview
- Police Commission interview
- Polygraph examination
- Psychological evaluation
- Medical examination
- Thorough background investigation
