A resident of Priscilla Lane told police that she confronted a young woman in her house while she was home alone Thursday afternoon. The intruder struck the woman in the head with a wooden box and fled the house, according to the police report. The resident sustained a minor head injury but did not need medical attention, police said.
The victim was able to describe the suspect’s car to police, and officers stopped a car matching that description on Hollow Tree Ridge Road, police said.
Alexis Jordan, 22, of Hamden, the car’s passenger, was later identified as the suspect in the home invasion, police said. The driver, 24-year-old Michael Apuzzo of Hamden, was also arrested as an accomplice, according to police reports.
Both suspects were charged with home invasion, first-degree larceny, conspiracy and possession of narcotics, possession of controlled substances and possession of burglar’s tools. Jordan was also charged with third-degree assault on a person over the age of 60.
Each was hold on $250,000 bond and taken to court Friday.
