The driver stopped the bus at the Post Road at Hecker Avenue after the incident at about 11:30 June 28 and called for police assistance.

The female victim told police she had been sitting on the bus when a woman, later identified as Enide Gabriel, of 1069 Main St., Stamford, had walked past her and spit on her for no apparent reason.

The victim said she did not know Gabriel, nor had she interacted with her before, police said.

Officers interviewed Gabriel, who said she had been “attacked” the night before in Stamford by three males and a female, police said. She had not reported the attacked to the Stamford Police.

When she got onto the bus, Gabriel said she believed it was the same woman from the attack in Stamford, police said.

She also admitted to spitting on the victim, police said.

When questioned, the victim denied knowing Gabriel or being involved in any other incidents with her, saying she had never met Gabriel before, police said.

Gabriel was issued a misdemeanor summons for breach of peace. She was given a court date of July 10 in Stamford, and released on a written promise to appear.
