Police were told that the owner went into the store around 8:30 p.m. on July 12 for roughly 20 minutes leaving his scooter in the second bay on the West side of the parking lot. When he returned to the spot, his scooter wasn't there. The keys went with the owner inside the store but a grocery cart attendant saw a man pushing the scooter away, according to the Darien Times.
Eventually the scooter was found by police behind the Burger, Shakes and Fries at 800 Post Road with damage as a result of an attempted hot wire. Thus far the surveillance video is not accessible but with another scooter reported stolen from the train station the investigation continues, according to the Darien Times.
