Darien Police say Quentin Stroman, 23, of Brooklyn was taken into custody on Wednesday, Oct. 9 on a warrant that includes charges from previous incidents at Walgreens (138 Heights Road).
According to police, Stroman was one of four males seen on surveillance footage stealing approximately six boxes of Nexium brand heartburn medication valued at $179.94 from Walgreens on Dec. 14, 2018.
Stroman was also involved in an assault at the same location on Feb. 4, police say. The victim, who was a store employee, allegedly followed Stroman and a second suspect out of the store after observing them leave with a garbage bag full of items. The victim was struck in the head and sustained minor injuries, according to police.
Further investigation revealed that four individuals were arrested in Raleigh, North Carolina for the theft of over-the-counter medications, police say. The images shared by the Raleigh Police Department showed that one of the suspects was identical to a suspect shown in the surveillance footage taken from the Walgreens in Darien, according to police.
The suspect was identified as Stroman, and police applied for and were granted warrants for his arrest.
Officers from the NYPD notified Darien Police that Stroman had been taken into custody based on the warrants on Friday, Aug. 23. He was transported back to Darien Police headquarters and processed for the following charges:
- Sixth-degree larceny
- Second-degree robbery
- Third-degree assault
- Fourth-degree larceny
- Fourth-degree criminal conspiracy to commit larceny
Stroman was unable to post his combined $525,000 bond and was transported to Stamford Court for arraignment on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
