Dropping Temps, Wintry Mix In The Forecast For Darien

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — It looks like winter will be making a bit of a return in Fairfield County on Friday — just in time for one of the busiest travel days of the year, according to the National Weather Service.

Wednesday will be partly sunny, but temperatures will fall during the day to the mid-30s with gusty winds, the Weather Service said.

Thursday will be sunny, with a high near 33 degrees, but it will feel much colder with wind chill values of 15 and 25. 

The real problems begin Friday, when is there a chance of snow between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., with rain possible into the afternoon across Fairfield County. The chance of a wintry mix of precipitation is 40 percent.

Rain is likely to continue into Friday night and Saturday. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
