Of course, the men of the Darien Police Department, Darien Fire House, Noroton Fire House, Noroton Heights Fire House and Post 53, won't be walking by themselves. Teams working through the Darien Domestic Abuse Partnership will be joining them on the mile walk around Hindley School.

The walk kicks off with an opening ceremony at the school starting at 9 a.m. finishing with a First Responder Breakfast back at the Hindley School.

The Darien Domestic Abuse Partnership is committed to promoting the fundamental right of all individuals to be safe in their personal relationships. Hundreds of Darien residents have been victims of domestic violence and many more have gone unreported. Domestic abuse takes a physical and psychological toll on the victim and the family.

Proceeds will also fund victim services provided by the Domestic Violence Crisis Center. Donations are welcome at all levels, from personal donations through corporate sponsorship. Contact Lauren Spicehandler to discuss sponsorship opportunities. (203)966-9541 ext. 144 or lspicehanler@hersamacorn.com.
