FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. Is the hassle of taking care of your pet wallaby, grizzly bear or orangutan getting to be too much? Connecticut is offering owners of illegal and exotic pets the chance to surrender them on Saturday, March 31, no penalties or questions asked.
The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection will host Amnesty Day at the Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. People can drop off exotic pets that are illegal to own. All animals must be in secure carriers. No domestic or legal pets will be accepted.
