DARIEN, Conn. The new Darien Fireworks Band is looking for wind, brass and percussion players to join it in a performance for Dariens Fourth of July fireworks.
The band is directed by Darien High School Orchestra Conductor Jane Minnis. The group will rehearse Mondays from June 4 to June 25, from 7 to 9 p.m. The band will play before the fireworks on Sunday, July 1.
The Darien Fireworks Band is open to all musicians ages 14 and older. You do not need to be a resident of Darien to participate. All players, regardless of skill level or instrument, are encouraged to register online at the Darien summer school website.
