Armed Robbers Strike Darien Exxon Station

DARIEN, Conn. – Three masked men with a handgun robbed the Darien Exxon station Monday night, police said. The thieves struggled with the attendant and a customer before making off with cash.

At 9 p.m., the attendant working at the gas station saw the three men enter the station, which is located at 1358 Post Road, police said. At least one of the men was carrying a gun. A struggle ensued, during which the attendant and the customer both received minor injuries. An undetermined amount of money was taken from the customer. No vehicle was seen at the time of the robbery.

Police responded to the scene, and a K-9 unit from the Stamford Police Department tracked to a nearby parking lot before losing the scent.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the event to call the Darien Police Detective Bureau at 203-662-5330.
