Ninety golfers teed off and raised $99,000 for educational programming for The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk.

Charlie Hinnant of Rowayton, a member of the aquarium’s board of trustees, chaired the event.

Low net was won by the foursome of Brad Jay and Earl Mix, both of Darien, former Darien resident Peter Pfister now of Williamstown, Mass., and Luis Acosta of Old Tappan, N.J.

Low gross was tallied by the foursome of Hinnant, Bill Schaefer of Rowayton, Kent Atherton of New Canaan and Bill Hooks of Wilton.

Items auctioned off during the event included a Jet Blue flight, an NHL/NFL ticket/tour package, a $500 Mitchell’s gift card, a $250 gift certificate to Rowayton Seafood and four tickets to TV host/naturalist Jeff Corwin’s Nov. 6 appearance at The Maritime Aquarium.

The $99,000 raised will help pay for the aquarium’s environmental education programs, which serve students throughout the area.
