ArtWorks Finishes On a High Note

Darien Arts Center President of the Board Lisa Thorén hopes the "momentum keeps growing" as Darien ArtWorks winds down its third year. ArtWorks wraps up its weeklong run Saturday with a Family Arts Fair beginning at 1 p.m. in the Grove Street Plaza, with music all day long.

ArtWorks, a celebration of art, put paintings in the windows of shops in downtown Darien. For its final day, the public is invited to collaborate on a mural and see works by more than 40 artists.

"Last ArtWorks had such great music we hated to have it end as the crowd grew, so we're extending the show this time to allow different bands to play until 9 p.m., creating an evening music fest," Thorén said. Throughout the day Saturday, different artists and musicians will line the streets of downtown Darien and show off their talents for the public.

A full list of artists, musicians and sponsors is available on the Darien Arts Center website. Baywater Properties sponsored the event, which was put on by the Darien Arts Center and the Darien Chamber of Commerce. It will run rain or shine Saturday.
