Upcoming Darien Senior Programs Held At Mather Center

Noroton Presbyterian Preschool Sing-Along

Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 10 a.m.

The Noroton Presbyterian nursery school will perform a sing-along with the seniors. Along with some fun holiday favorites, the students will be bringing some holiday gifts to share. Stamford Hospital: Healthful Eating Through The Holidays

Hosted by Gavin Pritchard Tuesday, Dec. 16 with a complementary lunch at noon; program begins at 12:30 p.m.

The holiday season is a time to celebrate with family and friends. Unfortunately, for many it also becomes a time for overeating and weight gain. According to the National Institutes of Health, holiday eating can result in an extra pound or two every year. Over a lifetime, holiday weight gain can really add up. The holidays don't have to mean weight gain. Gavin Pritchard of Stamford Hospital will present strategies to navigate and enjoy holiday foods and beverages without abandoning your everyday approach to healthful eating. First County Bank: Ask A Banker Hosted by Jack Dowling Friday, Dec. 19 at 11 a.m.

Jack Dowling with First County Bank in Darien will be at the center for 15-minute “Ask a Banker” appointments. Do you have questions regarding protecting your identity, preserving your retirement savings or simple estate planning? Are there questions you have that you have always wanted to ask a banker and never had the opportunity? Dowling will be able to answer any questions from trust and custodial accounts to CD’s and fixed annuities. He is an assistant vice president and business development officer, and has been with First County Bank since 2011. Alumni Swing Band Tuesday, Dec. 30 at 12:30 p.m.

Back by popular demand, the Alumni Swing Band will be at the Mather Center.The group consists of musicians of all kinds – music educators, military musicians and professional musicians. The Alumni Swing Band’s love of performing, and of music from the swing era have made each performance a labor of love. The Alumni truly enjoy entertaining the audience and their songs are sure to bring back warm memories. The band’s repertoire includes classic big band swing and jazz as well as more contemporary selections. Lunch is $4 and will be served at noon.

Darien Senior programs are held at the Mather Center located at 2 Renshaw Road.
