DARIEN, Conn. – YWCA Parent Awareness, a family-focused program that provides support and education to parents and children in order to encourage the healthy, positive development of youth and families, is presenting “What Every Girl Wants to Know” Tuesday, May 12, at 7 p.m. at The Darien Depot, 25 Heights Road, Darien.

The discussion, led by health and wellness educator Diane Frankel-Gramelis, is for mothers and daughters, and covers the physical and emotional changes of puberty. In a straightforward and entertaining manner, Frankel-Gramelis will teach young girls ages 9 to 12 what to expect in the future.

This program is not a “sex” talk, but will instead provide a starting point for further discussions with daughters about their changing bodies.

Frankel-Gramelis earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Southern Connecticut State University where she is an adjunct professor. She is also a health and wellness coach and presents stress reduction, lifestyle and health-related strategies.
