Darien Art Gallery To Showcase Peter Max Exhibit

DARIEN, Conn. – A newly-curated collection of artist Peter Max’s paintings will be on display and available for acquisition at the Geary Gallery in Darien.

A preview of the exhibit begins Saturday, April 30. The artist receptions will be from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, May 5 and 4-7 p.m. Saturday, May 7.

For the exhibit, Max has assembled a collection of his greatest and most-revered imagery, spanning four decades: from his iconic pop-art designs commemorating Woodstock to the 2013 unveiling of his design for the cruise ship Breakaway and the exquisite Masters series. This exhibit will feature his iconic and best-known pieces as well, among them “Statue of Liberty,” his famous “Flag” pieces, “Umbrella Man” and the prestigious “Cosmic Runner.”

Max has painted for five U.S. presidents and his art is on display in museums, presidential libraries and U.S. embassies across the globe. He has been the official artist of the Grammy’s, five NFL Super Bowls, the 2006 Olympics, the World Cup USA, The World Series, The U.S. Open, The Indy 500, The New York City Marathon and The Kentucky Derby.
