Darien's Patriot Bank Launches Holiday Toy Drive To Aid Al's Angels

DARIEN, CONN. -- Patriot Bank, which has a branch in Darien, says it hopes to spread holiday cheer by collecting toys for a Westport-based nonprofit to distribute to needy and ailing children in the region.

The bank is headquartered in Stamford and has nine other branches in Fairfield, New Haven, and Westchester counties.

The bank itself is donating 100 new toys -- one on behalf of each of its employees.

According to its president and CEO Ken Neilson, the donated toys will be given to Al’s Angels.

The organization, founded in 2004 by Westport resident Al DiGuido, provides holiday meals and gifts, as well as lifesaving medical treatment, to more than 9,000 children and families challenged by cancer, rare blood diseases, AIDS, and domestic violence.

Patriot Bank is accepting donations until Friday, Dec. 18, at its 10 branch locations:

  • Darien, 233 Post Rd.
  • Fairfield, 1755 Black Rock Turnpike.
  • Greenwich, 100 Mason St.
  • Milford, 771 Boston Post Road
  • Norwalk, 16 River St.
  • Stamford, 900 Bedford St.
  • Trumbull, 945 White Plains Road.
  • Westport, 370 Post Road East.
  • Bedford, N.Y., 432 Old Post Road.
  • Scarsdale, N.Y., 495 Central Park Ave.

Donations will be accepted during the bank’s hours of operation: Mondays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Fridays, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.; and Saturdays, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
