Alleged Serial Killer's Family Returns To Long Island Home After Police Search Nearly two weeks after being forced out of their Long Island home while police searched for evidence in the Gilgo Beach serial murders case, the family of suspect Rex Heuermann has been allowed back inside. Heuermann’s 59-year-old wife, Asa Ellerup, and their two adult children were seen returning to their Massapequa Park home in Nassau County on Thursday, July 27, where investigators spent 12 days looking for additional evidence in the case.
