Hundreds Run In Danbury Half Marathon For Newtown Police

DANBURY, Conn. – More than 700 runners took part in the Stratton Faxon Danbury Half Marathon on Sunday morning and at the same time helped the Newtown Police Union.

Runners who raised $100 for the police union received free entry into the half marathon or 5K, and a portion of the proceeds went to the police union as well. The races started and finished at Danbury’s Rogers Park. The half marathon also went through Bethel and Redding.

Amos Sang of Kenya placed first to the finish line with a course record of 1:05.38.
