Special Olympics Torch Run To Cause Road Delays In Danbury

DANBURY, Conn. – The City of Danbury Police Department will be participating in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Connecticut Special Olympics on Friday, June 6.

Drivers should expect some minor traffic issues and should find alternate routes when possible as the run goes through the city.

Danbury police officers will receive the torch from the Brookfield Police Department at 10 a.m. at the town line on Federal Road. They will run with the torch to the Bethel town line on South Street, handing it off to the Bethel Police Department.

The running route is Federal Road to White Street, White Street to Main Street, and Main Street to South Street.

The Danbury leg of the run will begin at approximately 10 a.m. and finish by about 10:50 a.m.
