Former Danbury Mayor Eriquez Arrested In Domestic Violence Incident

DANBURY, Conn. — Former Danbury Mayor Gene Eriquez was arrested Sunday morning in connection with a domestic-violence incident, the Danbury Police Department told the News-Times.

A Danbury man was arrested after failing to appear in court on several charges, police said.

Eriquez was arrested at his home at about 4 a.m. on charges of third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and interfering with an emergency call and released on a written promise to appear in court, the News-Times said.

Eriquez, chairman of Danbury's Democratic Town Committee, was Danbury’s mayor from 1989 to 2001.
