Drunk Driver's Restaurant Ruse Flops, Danbury Police Say

DANBURY, Conn. -- A driver who pretended to be a restaurant patron to avoid the cops after a set of crashes was arrested anyway in Danbury, police told the News Times.

Juan Carlos-Villa, a 31-year-old Danbury resident, faces charges of driving under the influence after police said he hit two cars and fled into a restaurant where he pretended to be a patron.

Juan Carlos Villa, a 31-year-old city resident, was charged with driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license, among other things, after police said he struck a parked car and another vehicle on Liberty Street around 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, the News Times story said.

Villa darted into a nearby Mexican eatery where authorities found him sitting at one of the tables and arrested him, the News Times reported.
