Police said the car was stopped with the assistance of the Danbury Police Department. The two suspects, Alexander Santopietro, 26, of Southbury, and Marissa Primiano, 31, of Katonah, N.Y., were taken into custody. A state police dog was used for a search and turned up two crack pipes, police said.
The vehicle was seized as evidence, police said. Santopietro was charged with third-degree larceny, possession of a controlled substance, violation of a protective order and use of drug paraphernalia, troopers added.
Primiano was charged with third-degree larceny, use of drug paraphernalia and operating a motor vehicle without a license, police said.
Both are being held without bond and are suspects in a New York burglary, police said.
