Leslie V. Konneker, 66, Former Danbury Resident

NEWTOWN, Conn. - Leslie V. Konneker of Newtown, formerly of Danbury, died Monday, Oct. 14. She was 66.

Konneker was born Jan. 31, 1947, in Bronxville, N.Y., daughter of Charles and Irene (Vaughan) Towson. She grew up in the White Plains, N.Y., area. Professionally she earned a BA from Pace University in White Plains and worked for AT&T and General Foods. She moved to Danbury after her marriage. After the birth of her children the family established a home in Newtown. She worked at a couple of veterinary clinics. She was active in the Newtown schools, her church and other organizations.

Konneker is survived by her husband, Gregory P. Konneker; son, Adam Gregory Konneker; daughter, Alexandra Vaughan Konneker; sister, Irene Koehnken; and brother, Ray S. Towson. She was predeceased by her parents.

Calling hours are Thursday, Oct. 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St., Newtown. Cremation will be private. A Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 36 Main St., Newtown. In accordance with her wishes, the ashes will be scattered on one of her favorite mountain tops.
