Fire Forces New Canaan School To Close For Day
A school in Fairfield County is cleaning up the mess following a fire on Monday night, Dec. 16, a report said. New Canaan firefighters were called to the West Elementary School around 10 p.m. after receiving a fire alarm alert in the school's kiln room, per the fire department. The fire was contained to the art room of the Ponus Ridge Road school, and firefighters were able to put it out quickly, according to the report. Multiple students at a Fairfield County high school have tested positive for COVID-19 and dozens of classmates have been forced to quarantine as a precaution. Nico Mallozzi, a 10-year-old fourth-grader at West Elementary School, died unexpectedly Sunday after falling ill during a trip to Buffalo, N.Y., for a hockey tournament. Official: New Canaan Fourth-Grader Who Died Suddenly Had The Flu
NEW CANAAN, Conn. — The fourth-grader from New Canaan who died unexpectedly over the weekend had tested positive for Type B Flu, according to the New Canaan Advertiser. Nico Mallozzi, 10, died Sunday after he became ill at a hockey tournament in Buffalo, N.Y., according to multiple reports.
