Three-Alarm Fire Damages Deli In Danbury A three-alarm fire heavily damaged a Danbury deli. The Danbury 911 center received multiple calls stating that a large amount of smoke was billowing from the Marcello's Deli and Catering near Lake Avenue and Hobson Street late in the evening on Monday, Jan. 14. The 911 dispatch center then alerted fire units, which arrived quickly at the scene. Fire crews confirmed that the smoke was coming from the roof of the structure. Four-Seat Airplane Forced To Make Emergency Landing At Danbury Airport A four-seat airplane was forced to make an emergency landing late Sunday morning at the Danbury Airport and both the pilot and passenger managed to avoid suffering injuries. At approximately 11:34 a.m., Danbury Fire and EMS units were dispatched to the airport on a report of an aircraft with an in-flight emergency. The Piper Warrior apparently had a problem with its left side landing gear while performing practice landings on the runway, according to James Gagliardo, public information officer of the Danbury Fire Department.
