Wrong-Way Driver Hits State Police Cruiser On I-91 In Connecticut

A Connecticut woman was arrested after allegedly hitting a police vehicle while driving in the wrong direction on I-91, while drunk.

Latifah Roldan, age 31, of East Hartford, was arrested by Connecticut State Police, on Sunday, May 2, following the incident which took place in the area of Exit 36 in Windsor, said the Connecticut State Police.

According to police, troopers responded to the area after receiving multiple calls around 1:30 a.m., that a Toyota sedan was driving southbound in the northbound lane.

Troopers who located the vehicle near Exit 33 in East Hartford, were struck by Roldan's vehicle when they attempted to stop her, state police said.

The trooper was taken to the hospital for medical evaluation and was released. A dog, K-9 Igor, who was in the vehicle was not injured. 

Troopers were able to arrest Roldan following the crash and charged her with:

  • DUI
  • Driving the wrong way on a divided highway
  • Reckless endangerment

She was released after posting a $5,000 bond.
